Vellara

  • Brand Identity, Visual Identity

Vellara is a premium clothing boutique built around a simple idea, that elegance shouldn’t be reserved for special occasions. I developed the name, positioning and visual identity from scratch, aiming for a brand that feels considered and elevated without tipping into anything showy.

CHALLENGE.

The brief I set myself was to create a brand that could sit comfortably in the premium fashion space without relying on the usual signals, heritage storytelling, exclusivity, or an aspirational lifestyle that feels out of reach. I wanted something that felt genuinely wearable day to day, while still reading as high end.

APPROACH.

I started with the name. Vellara blends vieille (French for old, often used to suggest something storied) with aura (an elevated, distinctive presence). From there, I built the positioning around “Everyday Elegance”, then carried that through the visual identity: a warm, muted colour palette, a refined serif wordmark, and photography that feels understated rather than aspirational.

OUTCOME.

The result is a brand that feels premium without performing premium. Vellara’s identity gives it room to sit across everyday essentials and more considered pieces alike, without ever feeling like two different brands.
